[Vip-hh] 22nd Annual Hunger Cleanup, April 22nd

Hello All,

      Hope all is going well for you as we enter the last month of school,
and for many of which will be there last.

      I was writing to see if any of you were interested in participating in
an event called Hunger Cleanup 2006, to kick off National Volunteer Week.

     The 22nd Annual Hunger Cleanup involves 2 main components.

1)    National Day of Service – Through the Cleanup, students will roll up
their sleeves and grab paintbrushes, hammers, and rakes to volunteer at
local hunger and homelessness relief agencies. Volunteer projects include
painting local shelters, planting community gardens, repairing and cleaning
food banks, and construction.

2)   Fundraising - However, one day of community service is not enough to
effectively alleviate hunger and homelessness within our communities.
Agencies need resources to assist people who are experiencing hunger and
homelessness. To ensure these agencies have the funds needed to continue
this work and to find permanent solutions to these problems, volunteers ask
their friends, family members, professors, and local businesses to sponsor
their efforts.
      If any of this interests you at all, I'd appreciate it if you could
contact me and I would love to give you more information and answer any
questions.

     Look forward to hearing from you. Also, since this event is coming up
quickly (April 22nd), I understand if you are not able to participate in the
entire program. If you would just like to volunteer, or would like to assist
in fundraising only, that will also be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
