VIPers,

below is some information on upcoming events, inside and outside of VIP!

External announcement, fro Orpheum Children's Science Museum:

Would you like to volunteer at the Orpheum Children's Science Museum this
Friday for our Boneyard Arts Fest event?  We need volunteer support with

   1. running a crafts station
   2. running a paint catapult

We'd like to have at least 4 volunteers for both activities, split between
two shifts:


2:30 to 5:45

5:15 to 8:30


I think it'll be a fun night.  I know it's last minute, but if you're
interested in getting involved, please Email Andrew at
volunteer at orpheumkids.com ASAP, saying which shift you'd like to take.

Special Projects event *update*:

Locks of Love fundraiser
When: Wednesday 4/20, 11am-3pm
Where: Illinin Union, room 314 B
This event is being organized along with the VIP Blood project.
Background: Locks of Love is an organization that take hair donations to
make wigs for children who have lost their hair from cancer treatments.
There will be students from a beauty school coming to help out. Students can
choose to donate 10 inches to be made into a wig, or they can get a regular
hair cut for $10. all proceeds will go to Locks of Love.
To Volunteer: Volunteers for this event will be helping to staff the event
by collecting money, publicizing in the hall, and bagging hair donations to
be mailed in. Even if you only have an hour, we would love your help! If
interested, please email me when you are available that day and we can set
up a shift.
Transportation: none provided

Also going on in VIP:

*Hunger Awareness on the Quad -- Thursday, March 31 -- shifts from 10 am - 1
pm*
This Thursday, Miss Urbana-Champaign, Jackie Schiffer, needs our help to
hand out postcards on the quad to spread awareness about hunger in our area.
These postcards will give people more information about how to get involved
as a volunteer at the Eastern Illinois Foodbank.

We need volunteers to sign up for one of three shifts. Each *hour long shift
* needs about 2-3 people to hand out postcards. I have provided a link to
the GoogleDoc below to sign up for shifts. We really need your help, so be
sure to sign up! If you are interested and sign up for a shift, let me know
and I will give you further details.
