registy!! You guys are the BEST!!!

Every 13 minutes, a new person is added to the national waiting list.
An average of 18 people die each day while waiting.
More than 4,800 people died waiting for an organ transplant in 2005.
One donor can save or enhance the lives of more than 25 people.

On November 8, 2005, my mom saved over a dozen lives when her organs and
tissues were donated to Gift of Hope. It gives me great comfort knowing that
she died doing exactly what she spent every day of her life doing-- improving
the lives of others. There's no better way to leave this earth than being a hero..

Spread the word on organ donation!! Sign the donor registry, in memory of her,
all past donors, all future donors, and for every person who spends their days
waiting for that phone call-- "we've found a donor."

https://www.ilsos.gov/organdonorregister/ IMPORTANT!! On January 1, 2006,
Illinois began a new FIRST PERSON CONSENT POLICY. By clicking on the listed
website and taking 60 seconds of your life to sign the online registry, your name
will go on the official registry. NOTE: This means signing your driver's license is
no longer enough! First-Person Consent makes your decision to be an organ/
tissue donor legally binding. Additional witnesses or family consent is no longer
required; your wishes will be honored. You should DEFINITELY, however, talk
about organ donation with your family-- tell them about your decision and how
much it means to you!!

There’s no cost to becoming an organ and tissue donor. There’s no cost to your
family. You can be just about any age. You don’t have to be in perfect health.

With the lives over two-dozen people on the line, what's your excuse for not
signing?
