1. University YMCA Dump-n-Run: The collecting continues! We
will be collecting at the University YMCA until the end of
this week. Please contact Becca (becca at universityymca.org) or
call 337-1514 if you have some time to spare and can help us
sort and/or collect items.
2. Taste of Champaign-Urbana Volunteers: The Champaign Park
District is looking for volunteers to help with ice delivery,
monitoring entrances, selling food tickets, and aiding with
park beautification for the weekend of June 25-27, 2004. Eat
and be entertained while you help out with the biggest event
of the summer. If interested contact Josh Newman at 398-2550.
3. Center for Women in Transition Annual Dinner: Volunteers
are needed to supervise children while their mothers attend a
dinner. Volunteers are needed on June 23, for two shifts:
5:30-7:30pm and 7:30-9:30pm. If interested please contact
John Phillips at 352-7151.
4. Cutting Grass: A senior woman would appreciate someone to
come out and mow her lawn occasionally during the summer.
She has her own manual lawn mower that is practically new.
Get some great exercise, a glowing tan, and give someone a
helping hand. If interested contact Geraldine Fosnaugh at
359-2034.
5. HOMEWORKS Sales Volunteers: Habitat for Humanity
HOMEWORKS is seeking several Sales Volunteers to assist in
running the store, operating the cash register, cleaning,
pricing, and displaying new donations, and helping with
donation pick-ups. Applicants should be able to work 4-8
hours per week during store hours: Wednesday 3-7pm, Friday
and Saturday 9am-4pm. HOMEWORKS is a resale store located in
Champaign Illinois that is part of Habitat for Humanity of
Champaign and Piatt Counties. They provides good, usable
items to families and generates revenue to support Habitat
for Humanity. Volunteers should be dependable, motivated,
posses the ability to work independently, and retail or
customer service experience is a plus. To apply, fill out an

6. Walking Senior Residents: Champaign County Nursing Home s
looking for volunteers to walk a few of their residents this
summer. Volunteers would accompany seniors on 30 minute
walks and engage in delightful conversation. Hours and days
are flexible. Contact Kalah McGraw at 384-3784 if interested.
7. Tandem Biking: Take someone on their first bike ride
ever! Volunteers are needed to ride bicycles built for two
with a person that is making a life long memory. If you can
ride a bike, you can take part in this event. Dates for his
opportunity are June 18th from 6:00-7:00pm and July 2 from
6:00-7:00pm. If interested contact Kathy Stiebner at 398-
