2004. The race starts and ends at the Assembly Hall and
coincides with C/U's Fourth of July parade and fireworks
program. Volunteers are needed to fill positions from 9-1 in
2-hour shifts. If interested contact JimiBeth Myers at
jmyers at illinoisalumni.org.

2. Special Olympics Volleyball Coach: Train our Special
Olympics athletes in the skills needed for volleyball.
Our skills athletes will not actually play any games, but
they will compete in Special Olympics skills district
tournament. Help coach in basic volleyball skills; volleying
the ball, serving, spiking, setting and following the
volleyball rules. Help with basic good sportsman skills.
Encourage our athletes to push themselves to build better
skills. Contact Kathy Stiebner at 398-2374 for more details.

3. Girl Scout Camp Leader: Like the outdoors? Like working
with children? Girl Scouts Green Meadows Council needs people
who love the outdoors to help us put on programs for girls
between the ages 5-17! Whether it be a nature hike, a
beginning workshop for girls to learn about camping, or a
trip to the planetarium, we need your help! Most events will
be on nights or weekends. Contact Billie Waddell at
billie at gsgmc.org or at 328-5112 if interested.

4. BINGO at Champaign County Nursing Home: The residents are
looking for summer volunteers (groups and individuals) who
enjoy visiting, playing and/or assisting with their favorite
game, bingo. Volunteers are needed Wednesday evening from
6:30 to 7:30pm and Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00pm.
If interested, contact Kalah McGraw at 384-3784.

5. Salt and Light Volunteers: Salt and Light is looking for
volunteers to help collect, organize and distribute food and
clothing to poverty stricken families and individuals. Salt
and Light serves the Champaign County community by aiding
with the physical needs of the residents such as food,
clothing, home repairs, and financial services. If
interested contact Nathan or Jenny at 355-5654 for more
information or to volunteer.

6. Tandem Biking: Take someone on their first bike ride
ever! Volunteers are needed to ride bicycles built for two
with a person that is making a life long memory. If you can
ride a bike, you can take part in this event. Dates for his
