Welcome to another edition of the 217mafia Hitlist, your source for all
electronic music news and events in Champaign-Urbana.

NEWS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Chillax will start Sunday, November 18 at the Highdive. This new Sunday
night weekly will feature some of Champaign's and Chicago's finest DJs
stepping outside of their normal crates to spin downtempo/trip hop and other
chilled goodies live and in the flesh. Most nights will see the pairings of
2 or 3 DJs working together to set the mood. This week we have BELLY BEL,
HIPGNOSIS and SUBSTR8. Be there at 10 pm!
- Mertz will be hosting a CD release party this coming Friday at Boltini
lounge to celebrate the release of his new mix CD, "Back In The Box."  The
CD is professionally printed, so Mertz is feeling pretty excited about it.
This will be the first chance to pick it up, but eventually you'll be able
to get it at other places around town.

- Huge thanks to everyone that helped, organized, performed at and attended
IMCfest. It has been a great weekend, and the hip hop after show is wrapping
it up as I write. Biggest thanks and praise goes out to Dan Blah... without
his countless hours of work and unending effort, the whole thing never would
have moved past the idea stage. HUGE UPs to Dan Blah!

- New audio this week on 217mafia.com is from Chris O. This former Boltini
DJ (now living in the Chicago area) came through to play IMCfest and brought
along a digital copy of his latest mix. If you didn't get a CD at Boltini,
you now can download it at www.217mafia.com

- Advance notice:  Champaign legend turned San Fran rising superstar, DJ
Spinnerty, will be returning to play a set on November 23rd at Boltini.
Joining him will be Mertz for a very special night they're calling Bring The
Funk Back. The two will be playing new school funk and disco alongside the
classics. Every visit back and performance from Spinnerty has been really
incredible, so make sure you're there that Friday!
