NEWS

- A few things to report since the last regular Hitlist flew into your
inbox...

- First and foremost, a heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone that
participated in or attended any of the events to honor the late DJ Impact.
It was truly heartwarming to see so much of the underground scene in
Champaign-Urbana come together to get through this sad time.

- One of the events for Impact that took place was a tribute show on
Radioactivity. A web stream recording of that show is available at
http://www.217mafia.com/node/3019 for you to download and listen to.

- 217mafia.com has seen a lot of other new content added in the past few
weeks, including new studio mixes from Geist, R.Kaine, Imapct and Mertz, as
well as live New Years Eve sets from Hydrogen, Geist, Dom, and Reflex. All
the mixes are free to download and are sure to make you shuffle your feet.

- Chillax on February 24th will feature a live performance by the band
Kristov's Agenda and a DJ set from Substr8. Chillax takes place every Sunday
night at the Highdive and features DJs and bands that masterfully create a
chilled out vibe with their tunes.

- Advance notice for a very cool event that is rapidly approaching. Eo
Somnium is throwing a major psytrance and industrial event at the
Independent Media Center in Urbana called Separation Anxiety. The event will
take place on Saturday, March 1 and feature two rooms of sonic boombastment!

- Lastly, we have one of the annual, "Oh my god it's winter, our bar
business slowed down so we better change our DJs because that's what is
really causing the problem not this freezing weather" Announcements to make.
Namely, Bozak (who for all you trivia buffs was the person that played the
very first record on Soma's soundsystem) will no longer be spinning Friday
nights at Soma. Instead, Tim Williams will be holding down the beats.
However, Bozak will still be decimating the Soma dancefloor on Saturdays so
go check him out on Saturdays at Soma.
