Hello folks,

As many of you know I took a break from teaching art classes in order to 
have time for the various other endeavors that I’m involved in. However, due 
to popular demand I’m going to be offering 10 weeks of instruction starting 
in late January. Here is an update on that as well as my other current 
endeavors.

ART WITH INTENTION

Instruction in drawing, painting, collage, and altered books; along with 
exploration of art-making as a practice. For all levels of teen and adult 
students.

Instructor: Sandra Ahten
Where: Cherry Alley Artist Collective at the Independent Media Center 
(downtown Urbana Post Office) 220 S. Broadway, Urbana
Date: January 26 – March 30
Time: 2 hours each week between 3 – 9 pm.
Cost:  5 sessions in 10 weeks = $20 ea. = $135
          9 sessions in 10 weeks =  $18 ea. = $162

THE REASONABLE DIET

I am also a diet coach. I have been facilitating diet support groups for 
more than 6 years and I write a column (The Reasonable Diet) for the News 
Gazette. The diet groups provide AIM: Accountability, Information and 
Motivation for weight loss and healthy eating.

Where: Lincoln Building, 44 E. Main Street, Suite 405, Champaign
When: Beginning January 10 and 14th.
Times: Tuesday 10:30 – 11:30 am, Tuesday 5:30 – 6:30 pm, Saturday 9:30 – 
10:30 am.
Cost: $120 for 10 weeks.

BOOKS TO PRISONERS

I am a coordinator of the Urbana Champaign Books to Prisoners Program. In 
addition to sending books directly to inmates; we stock and staff the 
Champaign county jail. We are always looking for volunteers and book 
donations. We accept all books and then sell what we don’t ship to prisoners 
as a way to fund our program. On January 28 we will be having the grand 
opening of our bookstore!
Liberation Bookstore will be located in the UC Independent Media Center 
(with the downtown Urbana Post Office) at 220 S. Broadway. We will be open 
Monday thru Thursday: 2 to 8pm
Friday and Saturday: Noon – 4pm
