Hey everyone, we need your help this weekend! If you're not available,
stop by anytime to say hi and see how the expansion looks. Its prime time
for Spring tuneups.

*The Bike Project is Expanding* - We're expanding to fill the entire large
back room at the IMC. The space will give us more room for classes and DIY
bike repair. We'll also gain space for some more indoor used bike storage -
so we can expand our stockpiles. The expansion means a little more rent, so
*remember to renew your membership in 2008* so we can pay the bills. New
and renewing members can pick up a Bike Project T-shirt for just $5 - while
they last.

*Move Scheduled for this Sunday (4/13)* - *We need your help!* Starting
Sunday at 9AM we will need willing volunteers to start moving stuff from the
small front room and into the back room. Will also be hanging pegboard and
parts baskets on the walls in the new space.

*Have a Project Bike on the Wall?* - Unfortunately we'll never have enough
space to store everyone's personal bikes and parts. If you have a project
bike or build-a-bike at the co-op, you need to be "touching" the bike every
two weeks and updating the "expire" date on the tag. Bikes that get left at
the co-op long term are likely to get recycled and put back to use. A frame
with an expired tag on it hanging on a wall is doing no one any good. If
for some reason you need a gap of longer than two weeks (vacation, grieving
period, exams, etc), we will of course be flexible. Just make sure to check
with a staffer so the bike is not deemed abandoned.

*TBP Spring Hours* - Sun 2–5PM / Mon 6:30–8:30PM / Wed 3-5PM / Thurs 6-9PM
(see you there)
[insider tip - Monday nights and Wednesday afternoons are the least busy so
far]

*Next TBP April General Meeting (Sunday April 27th, 5PM at The Bike Project)
* - All interested parties are invited. Very busy this time of year so we
can use all the help we can get. We'll be talking about BikeFest, fixing up
kids bikes for Safe Routes to School, finalizing the organization of the
shop in the new space, and much, much more.

*1) Bike Art Parade - Friday, April 18th - 4:30PM*

   - Dress up your bike, Dress up yourself! Make a statement, BIG or
   small.

*2) Champaign County Bikes - 2008 Bike Fest - Sunday, May 4th, 12-4PM*

   - The Bike Project will be doing repair demos and auctioning off
several bikes (to benefit the CCB educational campaign)
   - There will be bike movies, music, CCB's new SHARE THE ROAD bus, and
   lots more fun bike stuff.
   - More Info - *www.champaigncountybikes.org *

*3) The Ride of Silence, Wednesday May 21st @ 7PM,* Starting at the corner
of First St. and St. Marys (7 mile loop)

   - A memorial ride for those killed while cycling.
   - Black arm bands to be worn in memory of those lost. Survivors of
bike/car collisions should wear red arm bands.
   - This is a slow and silent but powerful ride. Memorial signs on
pannier racks can help communicate the ride purpose.
   - Those that aren't participating in the ride are encouraged to attend
a candlelight vigil at the ride start for the duration of the ride.
   - Flyers and cue sheets will be available on the website shortly - *

Hopefully is stops raining soon, so we can take the pontoons off.
