Hello fellow frozen cyclists,

Despite the frigid weather January is a busy month at The Bike Project and
plenty of folks are still riding in CU. Here's a run down of the January
events:

*Women's Night - Tuesday, January 5th from 6-9PM*

   - This event occurs the first Tuesday of the month. The first couple
events were a success so it will be continued into 2010.
   - Female, Trans, and Family TBP members and first time visitors are
invited to participate in a welcoming and nearly testosterone free co-op.
   - Winter is a perfect time for tuning up and overhauling your bike. If
you are riding through the winter TBP volunteers have lots of tips on how to
   stay warm and safe.

*TBP General Meeting - Tuesday, January 26th from 6-8PM*

   - These winter meetings are where TBP decides what to do during the peak
biking season. Come be a part of the process.
   - *Food and drink provided.*
   - Agenda available for review and editing online -
   http://thebikeproject.wikispaces.com/orgmeet-2010-Oct-26

*Bike Fit Clinic - Sunday, January 31st from 2-3PM*

   - A short bike fit clinic will be provided by member and Crow Dog bike
   fit business owner Karen Partlow.
   - If you're looking to buy a bike, the size of the bike is the first
   detail you will need.

*Lights being installed on storage side of shop - Approx Jan 15th*

   - The Bike Project is going to improve lighting on the storage side of
the shop. This will cause some dislocation of bikes and may cut down on the
   available work space.
   - *Folks with expired Build-a-Bikes are encouraged to get them done, or
at least pull them out of the shop for the next couple of weeks.* We
need the space so the electricians can put up ladders.
   - TBP Staffed hours will be open as per usual. See the website for the
   latest open hours (www.thebikeproject.org).

*Member DIY Hours Suspended until Spring*

   - The expanded Member DIY hours are being discontinued until it warms
back up so that the hours will be more utilized.
   - In the meantime we will be refocusing the TBP Americorp Volunteer on
starting up a youth Earn-a-Bike Program.
   - Member DIY Hours were in addition to the regular staffed hours.
Regular Staffed Hours are still in effect and have not been discontinued.

We'll see you around town and The Bike Project. Ride safe, be seen, and
stay warm!
