Hey all,

*It's just one week away, and we still need several more volunteers to fill
out the schedule at the Taste of Champaign Bike Corral.  Volunteer for
anywhere from 1 hour to several.   If you've already volunteered - THANKS!*

*Specific Times Needed:* Saturday from 1-5PM and 7-9PM.  Sunday from 1-6PM.

The *Taste of CU* is coming up (6/11 - 6/13) and The Bike Project will be
helping Champaign County Bikes to staff the *Bike Corral* and bicycle info
table.  This is a great opportunity to promote bicycling as transportation
in the community and help get the word out about The Bike Project.  I've
personally volunteered at this event the last two years, and it has always
been a good time.  You'll be handing out free drink coupons to everyone that
rides their bike to the event, and they'll be very stoked about it.

 2010 Taste of C-U Bike Corral helper sign-up

THANK YOU for volunteering to staff the Bike Corral and Information Table at
the 2010 Taste of C-U. Your help is greatly appreciated!

INSTRUCTIONS
Below are four spaces. 1) Contact Info. 2) Friday Helper. 3) Saturday
Helper. 4) Sunday Helper. Please fill in the contact information and tell
what hours you will help for each/any day and click the Submit button at the
bottom of the form.

WHEN
Taste of C-U dates and times are:
F. 6/11, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
SA. 6/12, 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
SU. 6/13, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

WHERE
- Report directly to the bike corral and info table at the South-East corner
of West Side Park, Champaign. You should see the bike rack there.

WHAT
- The job of the Bike Corral volunteer is to hand out free soft drink
tickets to people who ride and lock their bikes at the bike corral.
- Other activities are to talk to people about bike riding in C-U and hand
out free bicycle information. There is helpful information on the back of
the bicycle map that is useful when talking to people.
- Hand out 2010 Edition of the C-U Area Bicycle Maps.
- If volunteers wish to demonstrate the use of the bike rack on the front of
the SHARE THE ROAD BUS they may, however you DO NOT have to lift people's
bicycles for them - they should do that themselves.
(note: The CPD is working to fit the Share The Road Bus in the SE corner of
the park.)

OTHER INFORMATION
- A table and chairs under a tent will be provided by the Champaign Park
District. Bring a comfy folding chair of your own if you'd like.
- Volunteers get a free drink.
- Please arrive promptly for your scheduled time. There may not be overlap
in coverage and people who's shift is ending may have to leave the table
on-time.
