Hello,

There are two bike-related events in the community this next week we think
you may be interested in:

*The Spring Bike Swap of 2011*
We know you have it. In basements, garages, boxes, and bins. The coveted,
the cast off, that one part that never quite makes it on to a bike. We’re
talking about bike swag! The Spring Swap Meet is a place for you to sell,
buy, and trade bike stuff, and hang out with folks who like bikes.

*When:* Saturday April 30, 2011. Doors open 1-5 p.m.
*Where:* Latzer Hall, Univeristy YMCA, 1001 South Wright Street,
Champaign<http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1001+South+Wright+Street,+Champaign&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=1001+S+Wright+St,+Champaign,+IL+61820&gl=us&ei=BKioTdCSGaPb0QHzvoXvAg&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CBgQ8gEwAA>
*Who:* Anyone who wants to buy, sell, trade, look at bike-related swag, or
just hang out

This event is *FREE* for all attendees. All vendor fees are
*suggested* donations.
All proceeds raised will benefit The Bike Project and Prairie Cycle Club.

*C-U Bike to Work Day*
C-U's Bike to Work Day is next week (Tuesday, May 3). Registration (which
will get you a freebie--new stuff this year!) closes today (Friday). So
please register if you haven't already at http://cubiketowork.com

Volunteers to assist at the many welcoming bike stations are also needed and
there are still quite a few open slots. You can sign up for as little as 30
minutes by going here, finding a time slots and filling in your name and
data on the spreadsheet.
If you are willing to volunteer your time, please sign up for the specific
location and times online at CUBike to Work Day-- Tues, May 3rd 2011.

If you are a leader in a student organization, please share this request for
volunteers with your members.

Volunteers will be responsible for enthusiastically greeting the incoming
cyclists, checking them in, and handing out the free gift for each
pre-registered participant. The Bike Stations will be open 7-10, so we are
looking for people to help set it up starting at 6:30am, staff it throughout
the morning, and help clean it up from 10-10:30.

YOU are in important part of this event, so please check your availability
and help us out!

Thanks,
Phil
