Hello friends,

Three big events coming up in the next month for The Bike Project that we
think you might be interested in:

*Monthly Members' Meeting*
The next meeting will be Wed Oct 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the downtown Urbana/IMC
location. It's open to everyone (not just members), so feel free to invite
friends to come along. The agenda is available for review/edit at
http://thebikeproject.wikispaces.com/2014-Oct-29+Agenda

*Donating warehouse bikes to Working Bikes*
In a collaboration with Working Bikes in Chicago, *we need help *preparing
bikes for shipping to those in need. For the most part, this means removing
pedals and turning handlebars parallel with bikes so they fit better in a
shipping container. We'll have two big jam sessions for this project, one
to do the pedals and handlebars, and another to load the bikes onto a
truck.
*Pizza will be served to volunteers at both events!*
*Pedal/Handlebar Party:* Saturday Nov 1, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Meet at
the Campus Bicycle Center *by 11:00 a.m. SHARP*! At 11:00, we'll ride to
the warehouse and get to work. Facebook event info:

*Loading the truck:* Saturday Nov 15, 9:00 a.m. 'til the bikes are loaded.

*Cranksgiving 2014*
Saturday Nov 8, registration at noon, ride at 1:00. Meet at downtown
Urbana/IMC The Bike Project.

Cranksgiving is a food drive where food is collected by riding around
Champaign/Urbana/Savoy and purchasing food at local grocery stores. Riders
earn prizes by completing the ride in the fastest time, with the most food.
However, we usually have prizes for almost everyone. All food donated will
go to the Eastern Illinois Food Bank. After the ride there will be an
afterparty and other bike games. Admission to the party is participation in
the ride or 4 items of donated non-perishable food. Riders in the past have
brought in as much as 100lbs of food(with a bike trailer).
