[Bikecoop-announce] March Monthly Meeting and more

Folks,

The spring is finally here and we have about a month to warm up for the
National Bike Month in May. Get out there to ride, volunteer at the shop
hours, put lights on bikes, meet and eat pizza.


*Monthly Members' Meeting*
We will have our monthly members' meeting at *6:30pm this Wednesday, March
29 *at the IMC location (basement). We'll discuss the agenda at

If you have anything to add, either edit the agenda (email
contact at thebikeproject.org if you need editor access) or email

will be pizza and beer.


*Volunteer Orientation*
We started our monthly volunteer orientation sessions last month which
went successfully.
These sessions are open to anybody interested in making a staffing
commitment on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. We go over the basics of staffing,
how to help even if you don't know much about bikes (yet), and answer questions
you might have. This month's session is *this **Thursday Mar 30, 5:30
pm *at our
location in the IMC basement.


*Light Your Bike Event*
The bike project will be installing 500 high-quality Planet Bike Blinky Lights
(image attached) onto 250 bikes. This will be the first mass bike light install
in North Champaign. The event is held at *2:00 - 5:00 pm on Sunday, April
2,* at the *Fifth St. and Tremont St. Corner *by th*e Douglas Park *in
* Champaign*. The flyers for the event, in English and Spanish, are
attached and the Facebook page for the event can be found here:

*The Bike Project is in need of volunteers for the Hours*
We need volunteers for the *Tuesdays* and *Sundays* hours at the IMC shop.
Also we are hoping to get volunteers in order to restart the *Saturday* hours
as well as the *Women and Trans *hours. If you're interested in
volunteering, please come to the meeting, the staff orientation, or drop an
email to contact at thebikeproject.org.


*Friday Rides *
Thanks to the BikeFace, we have Friday rides. Here's a link to the
BikeFace's Facebook page where you can find information on future Friday
rides: https://www.facebook.com/BikefaceUIUC/. Hope to see you all *this
Friday at 5:45 pm at the Campus Bike Center* (608 E. Pennsylvania Ave,
Urbana, IL). The ride departs at *6:00 pm*.
