GREETINGS!

Welcome to Common Ground Food Co-op's weekly (for now) e-newsletter! You're
getting this missive because you're a member of Common Ground who's also
signed up to be on the CGFC mailing list. If you aren't interested in
receiving these updates, please email commongroundfoodcoop at gmail.com. A
paper version is posted on the bulletin board in the store.

Every week, via this transmission, members will be provided with store
updates/news, links to relevant news items/political actions, and other bits
and pieces worthy of mention. If you have anything of a similar bent you
think members should know about, please email links to
commongroundfoodcoop at gmail.com. Thanks!

STORE NEWS:

****'Tis trade show season and CGFC product buyer Molly's been snagging some
new stuff for the store. For example, stocked in the cooler we have:

-Lakewood Organic Pomegranate Juice Blend (a blend of pomegranate, cherry,
and blueberry juices)

-Frutzzo 100% Pure Organic Pomegranate Juice (Fruttzo is a small,
family-owned company that makes very high quality juices)

And on the shelves:

-Eden Rice and Beans - Organic Red and Black Beans (grown by US family
farmers), plus Lundberg Organic Brown Rice, together at last! They're a
great start for a lunch or dinner on the go.

-Kettle Chips/Lightly Salted - for those who want a plain, straightforward
chip!

-Our bulk source of organic dried unsweetened coconut has been discontinued;
we're now carrying a packaged version. Look for it near the bulk baking soda
and other baking supplies.

****On sale now:
Pinenuts - $6.80/pound
Orgnaic dried mango - $7.65/pound
Annie's Shells & Cheddar (orange box) - $1.65
Health Valley snack bars - $2.59/box

Look for more sales in the store now and in the coming weeks! Don't forget
to avail yourself of the CGFC product blog - it's a place you can go to get
some news about items CGFC carries as well as make suggestions. Find it
here: www.cgfcproducts.blogspot.com <http://www.cgfcproducts.blogspot.com>

****Farmer's Market volunteers are still needed for the 27th of this month,
and every Saturday in September. Contact Lisa at
commongroundfoodcoop at gmail.com if you can pull an hour or two.

****CGFC will be participating in the Volunteer Fair at the U of I on
Friday, September 9 from 10 AM - 2 PM. Please contact Lisa at the email
address above if you're interested in representing CGFC.

****Another reminder - this summer's drought has been rough on CGFC
suppliers/CSA farmers Jim and Diann Moore. There's a fundraiser going on to
help these folks buy hay to feed their livestock this winter - if rain
continues to be scarce, they won't have hay. More information can be found
here:
