The app is already targetting Android 2.2 and up, so that's already there.  I've been having good luck with HTC devices, I've been developing on HTC Wildfires and the HTC Nexus Ones.  I've had success with the Motorola Droid running CM7 also.  I'm had mixed results with a couple Samsung devices.
