[Commotion-dev] Project ideas for 4th year university students

Hello Commotion devs,

Last year, we, at Réseau Libre Montréal, had a team of 4th year Computer
Engineering students do their final project with us. They worked on
adding support of Babel and IPv6 to Commotion. We are quite happy with
what was done, we currently use the image they provided us. And Grady is
working on making sure those changes make it to mainline Commotion.

This year again, we will propose a project for a group of students. It's
more like a list of ideas they can choose from, or they can come up a
proposal of their own. We have a few ideas on our side: like simple mesh
visualization from babel data; make sure our network can be made safe
(with road signing for instance), while keeping the spirit of the
community, etc. They could also contribute to Commotion, like last year,
but our needs there are less obvious than last time... I'd like to know
if you have any suggestions of well-scoped small projects that might be
interesting?

Students picking this project are usually interested in networking,
security, mobility. They are often new to open source, community network
or even working with routers, but they want a good challenge.

Thanks,
Geneviève
