Hi All--
My second attempt to send this announcment from a recent study by Stan
Glantz.
Cheers

Theo Tsoukalas, Ph.D.
Here is Stan Glantz's info:
We just published new data showing that, despite the fact that the
percentage of adults who smoked in the US fell from about 44% to about 24%
between 1950 and 2002, smoking in the movies is back to levels seen in the
1950s. (It fell from through the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, then shot up
about 1991, shortly after the tobacco industry said it would stop doing
product placement.)
So much for "realism" as the excuse for tobacco promotion in movies.
