[C-U Smokefree] Meeting Tuesday 1/4 7 pm Carle Forum

Happy New Year!

And I hope it will be a smokefree one for all of us here in C-U!

We have our first meeting of 2005 planned for tomorrow night at 7 at the
Carle Forum, Fritz conference room - please plan on attending if at all
possible!

Even though some of us have been at this for over two years now, there
are lots of good things going on! And as we look forward to 2005, we're
not looking back, but looking at it as a new beginning.

Some of the things we will be discussing include the following:

* Organizing students and meeting on the U of I Campus.

* Planning a Press Conference to release our Public Opinion survey (Late
January or February).

* Updates on the Restaurant and Bar survey and Restaurant and Bar
training (Early February)

* Planning a Community Forum with Franklin Middle School (March).

* Parkland Health Fair in February.

* Strategies of contact and influence in the Urbana City Elections - as
many as 5 new candidates (out of 7) might be elected in April!

* Building strategic linkages with other community organizations.

* Revised ordinance effort timeline (again).

If you can't attend, but have something to say or offer, just send me an
email and I will pass along your concerns.

Also, if you didn't notice, a letter appeared in the News-Gazette from
Andor Kiss - one of our supporters.  If you haven't seen it, it should
be posted to the website soon.
