[C-U Smokefree] Tuesday's meeting

We had a very productive CU Smokefree meeting this past Tuesday evening! Thanks to all who could make it

Members should be aware of the following dates, or tentative dates for some upcoming events:

Campus Kickoff Organizing Meeting: Jan 24-28

Parkland Black Health Fair, display table: Feb 2, Parkland College, 11-2.

Press Conference to release public opinion poll results and show public support: Feb. 7, 10 am – tentatively at Carle Atrium or Franklin Middle School.

Restaurant and Bar smokefree policy training: Feb. 7-18

Franklin Middle School sponsored community forum: Early March.

In addition, the following members agreed to the following tasks (let me know if I left anything or anybody out):

Carol, Tara, Cheri – work on 3,700 signature/ organization banner presentation for press conference

Yvette – integrate letters to the editor
Yvette – contact community calendars
Yvette – enter names from petition into database.

Carol – revise meeting flyer and email to Dan

Dan – Update supporter’s list to 30 as mentioned.  31 with Parkland Wellness Center
Dan – add link to June’s letter to the News-Gazette; add link to Andor Kiss letter

Tara, Cheri, Scott – staff table at Parkland Black Health Fair on Feb. 2nd. Other volunteers would be appreciated.

Tara – find out about Carle scheduling for: Press Conference (February 7th); Restaurant and Bar training (February 7-18)

Scott – find out about Franklin’s willingness to host press conference.

June – fill out Supporter’s Resolution for Parkland Wellness Center

All – find out details regarding all candidates and districts for the Champaign and Urbana municipal elections

All – continue to fill out restaurant observation forms
