[Cu-wireless] computer recycling event; ham fests?

Maybe we can pick up some stuff for cheap here? I don't know what to
expect. I volunteer my van to haul stuff.

It just occurred to me that there is such a thing as a HAM FEST, and
I have been to a few and you can get computer and, more importantly,
radio stuff there for good prices.

CLAM and OJC may want to participate in this as a way to safely get rid of
old and poisonous computer equipment.

- Laptops and desktops
- Monitors
- Keyboards
- Cords
- Cables
- Printers
- Copy machines
- Adding machines
- Scanners
- Answering machines
- Pagers
- Citizen Band 2-way radios (CB's)
- VCRs
- Computer mice
- Fax machines
- Shredders
- Modems
- Microwave ovens
- Calculators
- Other miscellaneous computer, home or office equipment

Computer monitors accepted for a $2 fee per monitor. Individual
pieces of equipment weighing more than 60 pounds are not accepted at
this collection. However, arrangements can be made to deliver the
equipment to another site. Call 217-351-4443 for instructions.

The following items are NOT accepted:
- Televisions
- Telephones
- Cellular phones
- Large appliances (dishwashers, clothes washer, dryers, stoves,
refrigerators, etc)
