Hi all,

If the meeting is likely to go beyond 8:00 or 8:30 I may be able to attend
the tail end of it. From the sound of it, this meeting will be especially
important, and I'd like to participate.

I'd like to add another topic for discussion. Grassroots advocacy of our
network. Sascha and Dave are working to bring in the grant money. Zach and
Sascha are working on software project management tools. We've now got a
pro looking website, or at least the beginnings of one. However, as I see
it, some of our "primary userbase" is unable to access the website or doesn't
know about it's existence.

For example, in the general area of where I live there are quite a few low
income people, many of whom probably have no internet access at the present
time (or possibly just 56K dial-up). Providing service to these people
would produce manifold benefits:

1. We'd be bridging the "Digital Divide" and living up to our goal of
being Community Wireless Internet.

2. Building the network plant North on Vine/Cunningham would also allow
it to spread into surrounding areas such as the subdivisions around Crystal
Lake Park and also into Eastern Urbana.

3. (Somewhat selfish) I'd like to connect to cuw, and I need a bunch of
nodes for my packets to hop between Perkins Rd. and Main Street in Urbana.

I personally think that the CU-Cityview article should contain some
information about how to get connected to the network. Since we now have a
product, we need to start creating demand for it. :)

regards,

Mark
