Please forward to any feminist and queer-friendly music lovers in town!

On Sunday, May 19th, the Urbana-Champaign IMC features Sarah Dougher, You
In Midair, and The Violents! Show starts at 8pm, cover is $5.

Sarah Dougher is an awesome feminist guitarist, activist, freelance
writer, and college professor of literature who lives in Portland, Oregon.
She has three great solo records on indie labels K and Mr. Lady Records and
performs in two other bands as well: Sarah sings and plays the Farfisa
organ with Cadallaca (featuring Corin Tucker from Sleater-Kinney) and
plays keyboards and sings with The Crabs. Sarah has been a major organizer
in the original Ladyfest conference for women, The Portland Girl
Convention, and a volunteer program for queer youth in her community.
Sarah is always fun to see live; she sings a song all about Bella Abzug
(for all you anarchists out there!) and does a great cover of the Eagles
Take It to the Limit. She always has a great female drummer backing her
up, and on previous dates, its been Janet Weiss from Sleater Kinney, so
you never know wholl show up at the IMC this Sunday...

The Violents are our most favorite IMC house punk rock feminist dance
band--if you haven't seem them yet, get ready to rock your socks off.
