Hey Everyone,

To follow up on some action items from the last business meeting, Billy
from Volo <https://volo.net/> stopped by open hours Wed again and he has
been moving full speed ahead on figuring out how to make some kind of
"Intro to computers with Makerspace Urbana/UC2B" workshop a reality. He
procured a number of computers we could use(see fwd below). Erich, Emily
and I made some room in the stall in the back for about six of them and he
was nice enough to keep the rest for now so we wouldn't clutter up the
space too much. He also volunteered to speak with some local churches in
UC2B areas about possibly hosting the workshops with them in their spaces.
I think this is a pretty exciting opportunity :-)

Also Carol came by, she has been working with Rose on the sewing Co-op
project and it sounds like we might move forward with a series of
"pre-halloween weekly sewing open hours" with them where we would have
machines setup in the space and people could come and work on their
halloween costumes and get help with sewing (and of course electronics if
they are so inclined). And we're just waiting to hear back from them about
that.

Just wanted to let you all know what's happening,
Jeff

Hello to all, the computers and other parts have been donated from Volo to
Makerspace safely. We plan to set up workshops at various churches to teach
children how to build computers. The computers that we can get running
during the workshop will be given away to the students. Scheduling for the
workshops will be dependent upon if certain churches will be willing to let
Makerspace use space within the church for the workshop. The Churches we
will seek will preferably be in UC2B areas. The list below is the inventory
for the equipment that was given. Thank you all!
