Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
      *Volunteer with the Orpheum Children's Science Museum*
We're looking for more dedicated volunteers to include this coming season.
Our printed newsletter will be released soon with our upcoming events. If
you're looking for something to do on a weekly or monthly basis this
winter, the Orpheum might be just what you're missing. We'll also have
special events such as Lego Competition, DoCha, Building Fair and many
more! Contact volunteer at orpheumkids.com for more details.
 Only two more Snow Globe Saturdays left

*Open to anyone interested in volunteering! *
 There are only two Snow Globe Saturdays left! One of our busiest events of
the year, Snow Globe Saturdays take place Dec 14 and Dec 21, 1-5pm.
Volunteers are needed to run various winter-themed stations in our
life-size Snow Globe such as indoor sledding, winter crafts, snowball
throwing and more! Come out and help our youth experience some indoor
winter fun. Snacks and drinks provided to volunteers. Transportation not
provided but museum located on bus route.

Sign up for the entire day, 1-5pm or choose a shift (12:45-3pm or
3-5:15pm). Our families thank you!
 Call for break-down and set-up volunteers *Want to volunteer during the
holiday break?  *
After Snow Globe ends on Dec 21, we have to get the theatre ready to go for
our next event, Noon Day Drop on Dec 31. If you're looking for something to
keep you busy during the holiday break, this is an excellent way to meet
new friends or bring a bunch you already know.

*What will we do? *
We'll be tucking away Snow Globe decorations and trees under the stage. The
few days before Dec 31, we will fill approximately 3000 balloons with air
compressors. We will hang the balloons with netting for the big balloon
drop on New Year's Eve. This is a fun event if we have a group of people to
knock it out quickly.

*When?*
If you have a group available, we can arrange for your group to come
anytime between Dec 22-24 or Dec 26-30. If you would like to come as an
individual, please email for more information. We will definitely need as
much help as possible on Dec 30, and other dates can be arranged
accordingly.
 Noon Day Drop needs your help
 *Balloons everywhere!*
Many children can't keep awake until midnight. If you're in town during the
holidays, help us celebrate Noon Day Drop - our special New Year's Eve
event for children and families by helping us drop about 3000 balloons in
our theater.

This is short event, only lasting from 11-2pm. Please consider signing up
for the entire event, or email with your availability. We'll need
volunteers to help with craft stations and working with children to enjoy
the festivities.
Volunteer for Weekly Ongoing Programs
  *Toddler Tuesdays*, 10:30-11:30 a.m., every Tuesday
 *Animal Encounters*, 2 p.m., every Wednesday and Friday
 *DIY Weekend Wizard*, 1-3 p.m., most Saturdays unless otherwise posted

Due to graduation and other events, some of our volunteers will not be able
to return this coming season. To all of you who have volunteered in the
past few months, thank you once again for your time. Whether it was
assisting at one of our main events like Wine Gala, working behind the
scenes on exhibits and promotion, or coming in weekly to help care for our
animals, the Orpheum would like to say THANK YOU!

*Welcome new volunteers!*
The Orpheum is always looking for enthusiastic and energetic volunteers and
interns to create a great experience for our visitors! We are committed to
attracting reliable, high caliber volunteers and team members by supporting
personal growth and development.

*Internships:* The Orpheum has many opportunities for college internships.
Students can gain invaluable experience in various departments and fields
ranging from education to marketing. *Intern opportunities for 2014 are
open now. Please email for more information! *

*Youth Volunteers:* Youth volunteers may begin volunteering at age 14, and
include traditionally schooled and home-schooled youth.

*Group Volunteers:* We encourage groups and families to volunteer for
specific projects.
