Hi there:

i'm e-mailing this group of addresses in the hopes of gathering info on
recent incidents of tree-sitting direct action activism in and around
Bloomington, IN.

The Urbana, Illiois, Independent Media Center, would very much like to get
in contact with activists involved in the direct action profiled in the
Associated Press story included below. ideally we'd like to do a
telephone interview from the scene of the direct action or from a person
who has had first-hand experience at the scene of direct actions.

do you have any leads you could pass along to us? if so, please respond
to this e-mail!!

here's the AP story in question:

(Bloomington, Indiana-AP) -- Police in Indiana are uprooting
some tree-sitting activists.
Police are forcibly removing the activists, who have been
demonstrating for more than three months to block a new housing
development in Bloomington.
Authorities say they've arrested at least three people on
charges of trespassing and resisting arrest.
They say about four protesters planted themselves in trees at
the site, and at least 30 others are on a road outside the area.
Environmentalists have maintained a vigil since March 22nd, when
one activist began a sit-in.

thanks and solidarity,
