for tomorrow's imc radio news, i have:

1. a 12 minute talk i recorded in taiwan from an elder of the gitxsan
nation who spoke at a conference of canadian first nations people and
aborigines of taiwan;

2. some good interviews at the AWARE/ladies & laddies against war demo for
bears fans on lincoln ave, still to be edited;

3. an intention to make use of the offer from the saint louis imc to use
their school/first amendment story

i spent a little time at the champaign urbana days at douglas park, but
didn't think of a way of covering it--contributions welcome... (at this
event last year i interviewed people on their experiences in the school
system)

i think dan chambers is still out of town, and assume that the show is my
responsibility for tomorrow.

requests:

1. if you have headlines (150-200 words each (mine tend to ramble)) please
email them to me

2. consider pitching in to help with the show this fall. many of the
stalwarts and mainstays from the spring have left town, and the amount i
will be able to carry will diminish when the school for designing a
society starts up again beginning september. there are people signed up
for features for the next couple of weeks.

2a if you have interest in helping and are intimidated by the technical
side of things, let me know-i'll help train. if you don't *want* to mess
with the technical side of things, small things like writing a headline,
sending a suggestion for a story, and medium-sized things like checking
out a minidisk recorder to record an event or do some interviews--any
and all are a huge help.

2a.1 also going through the process to become an airshifter on weft is a
help in that you can be among the pool of people who can host the show
(and hosts don't have to be the producers); and it helps generally
to reduce technophobia

i will be at the imc today at the radio news meeting time (1:15), though
meeting isn't necessary for helping out...
