General Information:
The Hemispheric Meeting of Reflection and Exchange: "Another America is
Possible" will be held in Quito, Ecuador, on Monday October 28 through
Wednesday 30 2002*, with the purpose of:
- Deepening understanding of what is behind of the Free Trade Area of the
Americas - FTAA - and its future consequences.
- Enhancing the proposals for alternative integration.
- Giving greater visibility to the resistance against the FTAA
This meeting will be held within the framework of the Hemispheric Resistance
Days against the FTAA, which will be carried out during the month of October in
each country within the hemisphere. The meeting dates are concurrent with the
Ministerial Meeting of the FTAA, which is scheduled for the last week of that
month in Quito.
The meeting is organized by the continental Committee of the Hemispheric
Campaign against the FTAA, a coordination initiative for developing proposals,
that is linking networks, entities, social and political movements, alliances,
trade unions and social coalitions, that have raised their voice in resistance
against the Free Trade Area of the Americas - FTAA-.

place. On Thursday 31 and Friday November 1, demonstrations in front of the
FTAA Ministerial Meeting will be held.

Rights, diversity and plurality
The Meeting will be comprised of three types of activity:
