Clint, I have been trying to get the city of Rantoul and a mortgage company ( HFC ) to clean up the vacant house next to mine.That house had a water pipe brake last winter .It leaked for several months.The carpet through out the house is covered with four different colors of mold and so are the walls and there is about 30 piles of dog waste through out the house also covered with mold.That house has been like that for more than six months.The city and the mortgage company won't even give me a date as to when that might be cleaned up.
    Can you or some one at IMC come to the July 8,2003 at 6:15 PM meeting of the village board record it and do a radio story on this toxic mold problem.I went to the Champaign city inspectors office yesterday to see how they would handle this same problem in Champaign.Both cities have similar ordinances.Rantoul refused to enforce theirs'.
    WCIA did a story on that house on June 24,2003 6:00 PM news broadcast.I think if IMC took the time to do a report both the village of Rantoul and the mortgage company ( HFC ) may change the way they treat people.Several of my neighbors are willing to go to the baord meeting and talk to IMC about that house and the health problem it poses to everyone around it.
