[Imc-radio] IMC Open House September 7th 2-4pm

Greetings,

This is just a reminder that there will be an OPEN HOUSE at the Independent 
Media Center (218 W. Main Street in Urbana) this Sunday, September 7th from 
2-4pm.

The Open House will include brief presentations of each of the working groups 
(Print, Video, Radio, Shows, Librarians) as well as a brief introduction of 
what IMC’s do around the world and here in Champaign-Urbana. There will then 
be a short tour of the center and time for you to talk to members of groups 
that you are interested in, browse or just hang out.

There will be a training following the Open House (4-4:30) for anyone 
interested in staffing at the IMC.

The Independent Media Center is a global network of collectively run media 
outlets for the creation of radical, accurate, and passionate tellings of 
truth. We are motivated by a love and inspiration for people who work for a 
better world despite corporate media's distortions and unwillingness to cover 
efforts to develop an egalitarian and sustainable society.

The Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center is a grassroots organization 
committed to using media production and distribution as tools for promoting 
social and economic justice in the Urbana Area. We are dedicated to addressing 
issues that the mainstream media neglects and we do not conceal our politics 
behind a false objectivity. We will empower people to "become the media" by 
providing democratic access to available technologies and information.
