the feb 23rd show is about the concept "home/land."  there are two sound
pieces, each about 6 1/2 minutes, that trace ideas about each of those
concepts separately, but through overlap and juxtaposition, draw out why
those concepts are so volatile when put together.  i will also be reading
a text about the evolution of the term "homeland" in the 20th century, and
summarize some of the activities of the homeland security department so
far.

i'd love it if someone would pull together headlines.  that would really
be the only 'news' portion of the show.
