News producer, Labor-focused independent media organization

The Workers Independent News, an independent news service focusing on labor
and working family issues, produces daily news for radio and Internet
distribution, and is seeking an experienced reporter/producer.

Job Summary
     * Responsible for reporting, writing, voicing, editing, producing and
anchoring multiple daily newscasts on a strict deadline
     * Report on underreported stories, find original stories and report on
major news stories from a working persons perspective
     * Generating interviews

Qualifications
     * Experience with SoundForge, CoolEdit or a similar digital editing 
program
     * Professional radio voice a necessity
     * Understanding of labor issues, the labor movement and the media 
landscape
     * Extensive background in journalism preferred

Considerations
     * Use of Frontpage or similar web site editing program
     * Willingness to travel and speak in front of audiences
     * Strong computer and word processing skills
     * Knowledge of a foreign language

Compensation
     * Competitive salary and benefits covered by an AFTRA contract
