[Imc-tech] How to Upload MP3's

dear Technological Revolutionaries

I know that you all are working as hard as possible to make
urbana.indymedia a great resource for us and an exemplary site in the
indymedia.org global network, and I thank you a thousand times.

I need to vent my exasperation, though, at the facilities of the "PUBLISH"
page for uploading audio.

I have a 5-minute piece from our IMC which needs to go to Free Speech
Radio News at noon, i.e., NOW!!

I have been slaving away trying to get the site to accept any MP3 with a
sample-rate higher than 24kbps. Every single time, I get a generic "empty
field" message which tells me nothing about what ACTUALLY happened to my
submission.

We NEED a way to upload high quality audio to our site for syndication and
broadcast. and i NEED to be trained on how to get audio up to the
broadcasters quickly and efficiently.

After an hour or so of fiddling, with the deadline breathing down my neck,
I discovered that a 56kbps MP3 will upload, but a 64kbps MP3 will not. Can
we be explicit about this fact in the directions of the PUBLISH page? Can
we somehow boost that threshold so that 96kbps MP3's will upload as long
as they are under the total file-size limit?

Lastly, I would like to be able to transfer .wav files over the web.
Could someone show me how to do that on SERGEI?

thanks
paulkotheimer
