thanks for letting me know about free love.  that shit is bound to happen.
i think we should always buy 4 year warranties with these MD recorders
because they are flaky.  even if we drop or crush it - it will be
replaced.

my dad said that the sanyo's cut in and out of recording on battery but
not when plugged in.  sanyo, though, has a much easier interface.  we
should campare sanyo and sony consumer reports before buying more.  also,
it would be great to eventually have the same kind of MD recorders since
once you get trained on one - its hard to use the others.  meridith erased
half of the content she gathered in DC because she had a SONY and it
writes over your work if you don't tell it not to (unlike the sanyos).
