urbana lost power on friday.  when this happened, the backup power supply
died, thus the router was lost for a while.  in order to compensate for
this, the production room computers were put in direct connection to the
dsl until the router could be reset (and plugged back into the backup
power supply....however this won't happen since the backup power supply
somehow got fried).  it was never intentional that the production room
computers remain directly connected to the dsl.  it was only an interim
solution.  sorry about any confusion. my fault for not circulating this
information to everyone.
