So who ended up fixing the newswire? What was the problem? For future
reference I do have nightly backups of our database if we ever get our
newswire completely hosed by someone.

Do we need to worry that someone hacked our story hiding system or was
that a false alarm?

Also note that the front page has "file:" links again in the toolbars.
