I share Zach's concern, below, about heat & space at IMC.

(Zach, I hope you don't mind me forwarding this to the list; I only do
it because the virtually identical conversation is happening on-list.)

The move would be a little tricky but with proper planning wouldn't
mean more than about a day of downtime. I have an extra server I can
set up here to take the place of my server's IP address to handle DNS
requests until the DNS change propagates. I'd need some time to
transfer files from my machine. I'll need to upgrade my laptop to
serve all the functions of my desktop (currently my server is also my
desk top).

It'd be a BIG project and would take a few weeks of prep time. Given
my current schedule I wouldn't really want to do it until October.

The other concern with moving the server to IMC is that I and my
roomates will be MUCH less likely to be able to respond to tech
support issues on demand, the server will be removed from it's current
air conditioned space into the HOT IMC, any major physical server move
increases the chances of a disk crash, etc, etc, etc. It also isn't
clear where there is even room at the IMC for another server.
