For what it's worth, Clint is absolutely correct regarding the 
ADSL...due to regs, the ILEC (which I think is SBC around here) has no 
economic incentive to provide good customer service. So they don't. And 
this will be the case regardless of who you switch to. I've been in 
SolTec's shoes before. It's frustrating for them, too.

Also, DSL installations are notoriously pesky. So, downtime during any 
switch would likely be a problem.

Here at home, I'm considering going cable modem next year.

And go ahead and tell Dave that OJC can sign me up for their computer 
consultant network, if you think of it. Thanks!
