Present: Chris, Dan, Josh, Stephen

- Members of Tech and other groups will meet Thursday, 4/23 at 12:00 noon to
take old unusable electronics from the basement storage room to a recycling
facility.
- Barry (from the Bike Co-op) has requested wired Internet access for the
Bike Co-op.

Production Room notes:
- There is obvious overlap between Tech and the nascent Production Group in
the management of computer workstations and their use in the Production
Room. Tech's role will be to provide, manage, and maintain machines in the
production space
- The Production "group" ought to become a logical extension of equipment
already on-hand, and members of other groups who are already interested.
- Tech will help inventory the contents of the Production Room during or
after the 4/23 6PM IMC Production Meeting. The inventory will account for
usable and unusable equipment, and others in the IMC will be asked about
what can be used, and who intends to use what items. [Note: black TVs are
Tommy Griscom's, and he will be selling these to raise money for the IMC.
He currently has some production equipment in the room, as he has been
working on cleaning the vault and testing audio applications.]
- Production Room will need to be cleared and organized after inventory, and
before any machine troubleshooting and production use can take place.
- The ultimate goal of the Production Room (in the minds of Tech and other
members) is to be an organized room with multiple working workstations
where audio/visual production can take place, benefiting all of the IMC, and
where media production training can take place.
-The group brainstormed the idea of the Production Group being a facilitator
that manages the space, aids in training and production projects with other
groups, and maintains a calendar and checklist so that groups and
individuals can reserve time to work on media, while ensuring the security
of the equipment.
- The group began brainstorming about shelving and cabinets as aiding in the
efficient use of space, but these and other ideas will be further discussed
at the Production meeting.

The state of computer workstations in the IMC Production Room:
- There are 4 in-use computer stations currently in the room: 1) WRFU
Automation (there is some discussion about where this ought to reside); 2) a
Mac with member files; and 3) & 4), two functioning workstations, at least
one of which is capable of basic audio editing and production (2.4GHz
Pentium 4).
- The Rosa workstation, which will be the primary video production station,
is being fixed and configured. Josh has examined Rosa and determined that
it might have a motherboard problem or have an issue with hardware
incompatibility. It does not currently work, but when it is ready, it will
be a powerful production tool. The Production Room will need to be clear
and organized before Rosa is moved into this space for further
troubleshooting and setup.
