Hey all, 

Parkland is looking to hire 3!! new CSIT faculty members. I know a lot
of you have the wide range of skills Parkland is looking for so I've
send an email to this list.  Please forward this to people who you think
might be interested.  These were just recently advertised and didn't end
up in the Chronicle of Higher Ed, so there is likely to be a very small
pool of local applicants.

Parkland College

Parkland College is a comprehensive community college located in
Champaign, Illinois, with an enrollment of 10,500 credit students.
Parkland College invites applications for the following TENURE-TRACK
positions available Fall 2008. These positions require a demonstrated
commitment to teaching and to a learning college concept; to ongoing
professional development; to the community college philosophy; to mutual

ANIMATION/SCIENTIFIC VISUALIZATION

The successful candidate will be an artist/programmer that can teach
and develop curriculum in Digital Media areas - 3D Computer Animation,
Game Development, and Computer Graphics programming. This position
requires a unique blend of design and programming skills for both
creating and programming 3D computer generated media. Ideal candidates
will have expertise and interests in a broad range of areas: 2D and 3D
animation (Maya, MEL, AfterEffects), 3D character design and animation,
image processing (Photoshop) and compositing, special effects, computer
game art, game design, game development tools, scientific visualization,
and 3D graphics programming (C++, OpenGL, DirectX). Candidates should
have a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with
minimum of two years of teaching experience in higher education is
required. 

COMPUTER SCIENCE/NETWORKING

Minimum of master’s degree in computer science or related discipline
required; Two years’ teaching experience in higher education
preferred. Successful candidate will have strong commitment to teaching,
willingness to design and/or teach new and on-line courses, and
willingness to participate in college and departmental governance.
Preference will be given to those with (a) MCSE, CCNA, and CCNP
networking certification (b) familiarity with the following:  C, C++,
and JAVA (c) knowledge of wireless technology/networking.

DIGITAL MEDIA

Demonstrated experience in 3D game design and development and Web
design and programming. Proficiency with Dreamweaver, Flash, HTML,
ActionScript, and Java required. Experience with 2D/3D animation also
desirable but not necessary. Demonstrated teaching experience in Digital
Media highly preferred. Bachelor’s in computer science or related
field and MS/MFA, or commitment to complete, in computer science,
digital media, or related field required.
