Yes, the two suffixes are interchangeable AFAIK.

http://lists.ucimc.org/ works for me this morning, so maybe just a temporary issue when you tried it.

Archiving old list archives might be worthwhile, but it may just be easier to leave them active but unused. Josh probably has more insight into the backend of that, but I do know that access to older archives is something that is used on occasion.

We've generally accepted that the list use is self-evident, but there are a bunch of lists to sort through for new users. The Volunteer page at ucimc.org does provide some guidance and orientation, but probably could use some updating. I would check further for examples, but the website seems to be having issues this morning.

If you have any specific question about a list, I'd be glad to tell you what I know about IMC/RFU/etc lists, but there are lots of other .chambana  lists I have no experience with.
