[UCIMC-Tech] events calendar on UCIMC homepage missing?

Hello,

  I can't see the link to the regular IMC events calendar
http://shows.ucimc.org/calendar
 on the main IMC homepage.
http://ucimc.org/

  That is: exciting to see that new Staffing Calendar on the homepage.
The homepage may need an additional change: add back a prominent
link to the UCIMC Shows/Staffing calendar

Details/suggestions:

 From the the horizontal menu "Publish!, calendar, booking,..."
  the message to a site-visitor seems to be "there is only one calendar,
and it is the staffing calendar".

   More important than a misleading appearance: I can't find any
link to the calendar, the Events (Shows) calendar, in this
menu.

  A click on "Calendar" does not take me to any calendar, instead
performs a submenu show/hide toggle. (tried this on both a Mac and
Linux Firefox).
 A click on "staffing calendar" takes me to (no surprise) the staffing
calendar.
  Apologies if I'm out of the loop here on website/scheduling changes or
similar, or just missing something obvious..

Suggestions:
    1) Add a link like "Events Calendar" at same level of "staffing
calendar"
     or..
    2a) Make "Calendar" a single-click link, like "donate" is (instead of
'toggle submenu' button / submenu header.
    2b) Move 'stafffing calendar' link off of main page top menu. Do
majority of visitors to site need to know about staffing coordination,
or are they only looking for building events? Don't want a potential
visitor to too-easily get to a calendar that has no events on it, then
visitor thinks "nothing is happening.

   3) Change the menu "publish!, calendar, booking,..." so that clicks
on all toplevel menu entries go to an appropriate web page, instead of
-- as now for some items -- toggling visibility of submenu items. Mouse
hovers over any item with subheadings will then alwys show these
subheadings. A single click on either type of menu item (e.g.)
publish! and submenu items (e.g. "News Story") will take user to
appropriate web page.

  The curent "toggle-menu-visibility" behavior has some problems:
    the toggle isn't needed -- submenus auto-hide after mouseover
    the toggle hides vital naviagation information for rest of page visit!
    works differently from no-subitem top-level menu items like "donate".

Current horz. menu hierarchy...
    * publish!
          o News Story
          o Audio
          o Picture
    * calendar
          o staffing calendar
    * booking
    * volunteer
    * rental space
    * about us
    * donate

        Cheers,

        Barry
