Carly,

Thanks for sending this to everyone. I'll try to help sort this out, but
honestly, I've been away and some of these items are news to me, which means
they might have accumulated since I finished working at the IMC in July.
Despite the best efforts of Production group members, some things kept
piling up, especially in the vault, which got close to being empty before
filling again, as different events and building cleaning sessions created
the need for more storage.

First, the computer under the desk was a Production workstation that we
tried to format but then kept to use for parts, back when we were setting up
operational computers in the room; I believe the one you are describing was
tucked in the back corner behind Nicole's old workstation. My suggestion is
to see if it will be useful for Tech or Librarians as a public workstation,
or replacement for one of the current library stations, if necessary. It
might also be useful in the Family Room. I don't think it's essential for
Production at this point.

The extra printers/scanner might be good to keep for any new dedicated
AmeriCorps office space that might be in the building. Likewise with the
keyboard, mouse, and Internet/phone equipment.

The VHS tapes are for the most part material that will be part of the IMC
archives - such as the Indy Media Reels. Those which are not (like "E.T."
and whichever other Hollywood movies are in there) can go to the Family Room
or to donations. The posters and signs (for various IMC events) should go
to archives as well. Nicole and I kept all of those to document different
programs and events that the IMC has offered locally.

Keep the tools - hopefully they will fit in one of the shelving units. It's
good to have some on hand for computer repair.

Just about everything else you've described sounds out of place - broken
furniture, magazines, clothing, personal items, VHS camera, etc. However,
check with Jason Keist - he used to have his office in the room, too, and I
think that the "Box of tea, mug, tea ball, tupperware container" might
belong to him if you found them in the small black file cabinet. Other mugs
and tupperware might go in the Janitor's Closet in the basement along with
the other tablewares for large events, or might be useful for new AmeriCorps
members' office space.

Leave the black IMC mugs on the desks - we've been using those as jars for
pens and pencils.

I have no idea why there is parchment paper in the Production Room, but then
again there was once a tub of honey in there!

Anything that needs to leave the room and is worth keeping but has no other
home, has traditionally gone to the "Rust Room" in the basement, but I think
that is being cleared currently, so check with everyone else first.

I hope this helps, and I commend your efforts to reorganize the room; it can
be a great space.
