I'm sorry but the simple solution seems to be to not post anything you dont
want to be public to a public list.

If you need to have a secret conversation write an email without using the
list.
It may be a slightly more complicated entering in names individually but
hopefully restricted emails are not needed much.

Am I totally off base here?
