[UCIMC-Tech] technology support requests at UCIMC

Hello all,
Recently the UCIMC finance computer hard drive died, and the IMC-Tech
group, notably our Americorps Tech Projects Developer, Brian Duggan,
has worked to resolve the issue.

I thought that this would be an appropriate time to let everyone know
about the Tech group and our role at the UCIMC.

The Tech group is a small but dedicated group of individuals
supporting the technical infrastructure of the UCIMC.

>From the UCIMC brochure:

TECH: Responsible for the tech and equipment needs of the Center,
including the IMC website, computer networking and electronics, and
the chambana.net community hosting server.

We are here to support the computer and networking infrastructure of
the UCIMC. If you or your working group has a tech support need, there
are several ways you can/should communicate that need to us:

- Attend IMC Help Desk hours Tuesday/Thursday from 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Suitable for personal computer issues. Help provided as available.
Self-help / skill development is encouraged.

- Come to our regular meeting, Tuesdays at 6PM
Want to help with tech? Have a tech concern that affects you or your
working group? This is the place to talk with someone in person.

- Email our listserv: imc-tech at ucimc.org
This is the official way to submit a support request. Send us an
email, you'll get faster and better response. It helps to be nice too
:)
