[UCIMC-Tech] UCIMC events & community calendar of events

If you've visited the main UCIMC website lately, you've noticed a few
long coming changes. Tech is working on both a website makeover and
improving the functionality of the site.If you have input to this
process, feel free to come to the Chambana.net Tech meeting on
tuesdays at 6pm. You can always contact tech at
imc-tech at lists.chambana.net

Some of the current changes you should be aware of:
- reorganization of menus - if you see something *missing* please let
tech know.
- UCIMC Calendar & Community calendar now separate
-- Events submitted under Events > Submit your event are for events
happening AT THE UCIMC only.
-- Removed categories for events relating to things happening in the community

- Community calendar -
This has been added. A separate calendar that will *eventually* be
able to take in RSS feeds of events from other organizations in the
community

Community members can submit individual "news stories", selecting
"Date and Time of Event", and now can enter the actual date and time
of the event. These will show up on the community calendar.

The list of "Upcoming Events" currently is a list of all "news
stories" submitted under Publish! > News Story.
This will eventually change to incorporate News stories that are
actual events (as described above) AND events from the UCIMC and
Community calendars.

Eventually the events on the shows site will automatically feed into
the UCIMC calendar as well, avoiding the need for double entry.
