[UCIMC-Tech] [Imc-bookkeeper] Printer networking request

I'm admittedly unfamiliar with the status of printers at the UC-IMC, other
than the new one purchased for office management & Finance. If AmeriCorps
members do not have access to a *working* (and we should name our critera
for "working") printer, I suggest that Finance purchase a printer, a la the
one we are currently using, for AmeriCorps member use.

My criteria for a working printer:

   - The printer does not *regularly *jam.
   - The printer has the capacity to be hooked up to any AmeriCorps members'
   computers.
   - The printer *prints*, and has no outstanding tech issues.

That our Office Manager & Finance (i.e. folks who must submit official
documents to the state, granting agencies, etc. regularly) have a
high-quality printer is great. Now, if there is a working printer for
AmeriCorps use currently that is undesirable because of *quality *of print
-- but not workability of printer -- I suggest that that AmeriCorps member
talk to a member of Finance for those special exceptions in which
high-quality printing is needed -- at least until next year's AmeriCorps
grant, which *must must must *include money for tech. Or we should just buy
another printer for AmeriCorps use, pronto.

Other folks' feedback?

Also, just a note: the printing question has been a really sore subject for
a lot of people at the IMC, *viz. *AmeriCorps members, and I would like us
to approach this with expediency and thoughtfulness, because having our
technical needs met is a necessity.
