[Imc-web] the repeated request

Dear Anna,

first Zachary Miller is not ML. These are two separate guys. I know them
both.

second, i'm sure if you want your article to be in the Elsewhere wire, it
can be moved, however, keep something in mind. Each IMC tries to focus on
local events and writers, and therefore, the tendency of an IMC reader is
to read primarily the articles in the Local wire. The Elsewhere wire, at
least for the UC-IMC, means that the articles in this category weren't
necessarily written by a local person and probably doesn't have an
immediate relevancy for a local reader (not to say there isn't a
relevancy, but that if there is, it's more broad-focused). Putting your
article in the Elsewhere wire could have the opposite effect as you wish,
since it may actually have less readership locally. And if you're wishing
for your article to have a larger readership (meaning more than just
local), then you might consider posting it to the global IMC site
(www.imc.org). however, keep in mind, all articles on the front page of
the global IMC are pulled randomly from each local IMC's featured section
(meaning the middle column). your article may not be read by anyone if
posted on the global imc, unless folks decide to go past the front page
and read some other articles posted there (which does happen, i
suppose). to have an article posted in the feature
section (for the UC-IMC, at least) requires the article to have a local
relevancy for the U/C area, usually has a journalistic or critical
approach to the subject, and typically a request from the author. Not all
articles can or are put in the featured section. This is done by some
process open to anyone willing to attend meetings.

Again, I would be happy to move your article down to the Elsewhere newswire, if that's what you want."

It doesn't seem to be compatible with the First Amendment, don't you all think so? I would also appreciate if First Amendment is always respected in my cases either currently or in the future.
