I'm an occasional lurker here, so take my opinion with a grain of 
salt, but I absolutely support any action that minimizes both the time 
and effect that Jack Ryan causes on the website.  Mike and others 
have earned a debt of gratitude for their relentless moderation of the 
IMC web publishing space.

I think Ryan has had plenty of time to try and work within the rules. 
I also believe that Mike's option #2, deleting his posts, is the 
option most likely to lead to less work in the future.  If everything 
he posts is simply deleted en masse, then I think its your best chance 
of frustrating him enough to cause him to seek other venues for his 
needs.  Hopefully this could at least be automated for posts using any 
permutation of his name.
