[Imc-web] Re: [IMC-Tech] Shutting Down Comments or the Site Until New Site is Live

Just to follow-up on my original proposal in this thread, I think we 
need to go ahead and shut things down now, unless we can get better 
access to to administer the website.

I was able to really get caught up only twice over the weekend with 
deleting adcrap. Today I haven't yet been able to. The website has been 
mostly inaccessible to me since Friday, despite multiple browsers on 
multiple computers from multiple locations. Somehow, someway, the adcrap 
always gets through, though.

I thus propose these four things, in whatever order will most 
expeditiously work:

1. Put the website on moderated status, if we think that will stop the 
adcrap, but we may have to shut it off completely and go to read-only 
status to avoid moderation requests being generated if it keeps coming.

2. Clean up whatever adcrap is on the site.

3. Post an article to the Local Newswire only letting people know what's up.

4. Work as quickly as possible to get newucimc.org up.
